Overview

The Yokogawa ANT512-10 Optical ESB Bus Repeater Slave Module is a component of the Optical ESB Bus system, designed to extend the ESB bus transmission range by converting electrical signals into optical signals. This module allows the ESB bus to connect via optical fiber, supporting transmission distances between 5 km and 50 km when paired with the ANT411 Optical ESB Bus Repeater Master Module.

• Distance Extension: Paired with the ANT411 master module, it extends the ESB bus transmission range up to 50 km.

Installation Details

The ANT512 module can be installed in either single or dual-redundant configurations depending on system requirements:

• Single Configuration: Installed in slot B1 in units IO1, IO3, IO5, IO7, and B1.
• Dual-Redundant Configuration: Installed in slots IO1 through IO8, and slots B1 and B2.

The module is compatible with the ANB11 Optical ESB Bus Node Unit and the ANT10U Unit for Optical ESB Bus Repeater Module.

Environmental Monitoring (Optional)

The module supports optional environmental monitoring through an HKU interface. If the /HU1A or /HU1B option is selected, the module can transmit cabinet environmental data, such as temperature and fan status, to an FCU (Field Control Unit) via the optical ESB bus. This data is displayed on the HIS (Human Interface Station) for real-time monitoring and alarms.

  • -5: Standard type, no explosion protection.
  • -E: Standard type with explosion protection.

Important Notes

• When the optical attenuation between ANT411 and ANT512 is below 3 dB, it is recommended to use an attenuator to maintain signal quality.
• This module requires specific optical fiber types (quartz single-mode) and LC connectors, so ensuring fiber compatibility is essential for optimal performance.

Dimensions and Variants

The image shows four configurations of the ANT512-10 module, each with different connector and interface options:

1. ANT512-10/HU1A: Includes both an ESB bus connector and HKU interface, for ESB bus connection and cabinet environmental monitoring.
2. ANT512-10/HU1B: Includes only the HKU interface, without an ESB bus connector, suitable for monitoring without ESB connection.
3. ANT512-10/BU1A: Includes only the ESB bus connector, without the HKU interface, for ESB connection without environmental monitoring.
4. ANT512-10/BU1B: Does not include either the ESB bus connector or HKU interface, a simpler configuration without bus or monitoring.
