Overview:

  • The 133388-02 3500/50 Tachometer Module monitors shaft speed, rotor acceleration, and rotor direction using input signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups.
  • It compares these measurements to user-defined alarm setpoints.
  • The module generates alarms if any setpoints are violated.
  • This module is highly flexible and configurable with four operational options to suit different monitoring needs.

  • Keyphasor Signal Output: The module supplies conditioned Keyphasor® signals to the 3500 rack backplane, eliminating the need for a separate Keyphasor® module.
  • Peak Hold Feature: The module stores the highest speed, highest reverse speed, or number of reverse rotations the machine has reached. The user can reset these values.

Application Note

The 3500/50 Tachometer Module is not designed for speed control or overspeed protection systems. It lacks the redundancy and speed needed for reliable operation in these applications. The analog outputs are only suitable for data logging or display, and speed alert setpoints are solely for annunciation. Magnetic pickups are not suitable for reverse rotation or zero speed options because of their low-speed performance limitations.

  • Alarm Setpoints and Time Delays:
    • The user can adjust alarm setpoints between 0 and 100% of full scale for each measured value.
    • Alarm Time Delays:
      • Alarm 1: From 1 to 60 seconds (1-second intervals).
      • Alarm 2: From 1 to 60 seconds (0.1-second intervals).
