The Channel Isolated Discrete I/O Modules (FBM241/b/c/d) feature eight discrete input channels and eight discrete output channels. These modules, along with their associated termination assemblies (TAs), are designed to handle various input and output signal voltages, including:

  • 15 to 60 V DC
  • 120 V AC/125 V DC
  • 240 V AC

Depending on the module configuration, the TAs include current limiting devices, fuses, relays, or relay outputs with either internal or external power sources and fusing.

The modules offer the following key configurations:

  • FBM241c:
    • Input: 15 to 60 V DC (contact, unprotected or fused).
    • Output: 15 to 60 V DC at 2 A or 240 V AC at 5 A (with external power source).

Each module offers galvanic isolation for inputs and outputs, and when used with external excitation, the inputs and outputs are group isolated.

These modules perform the required signal conversion for interfacing with field sensors and optionally communicate with redundant fieldbus systems. Additionally, they support the execution of Discrete I/O or Ladder Logic programs with configurable options, such as Input Filter Time, Fail-Safe Configuration, Fail-Safe Fall-Back, and Sustained or Momentary Outputs.
