SNT411-5F | Yokogawa Optical ESB Bus Repeater Master Module

The SNT411 Optical ESB Bus Repeater Master Module extends the ESB (Enhanced Safety Bus) system’s communication range. You can connect it to the ESB Bus Coupler Module (SEC401, SEC402) on the safety control unit or to the ESB Bus Interface Module (SSB401) on the safety node unit (SNB10D) via an ESB Bus cable.

Types of Optical ESB Bus Repeater Modules

There are two versions of the ESB Bus Repeater Module:

• With Terminator
• Without Terminator

These options allow flexibility depending on system requirements.

Key Features and Specifications

The SNT411 module offers the following features:

• Function: It transports ESB Bus signals optically (Vnet/IP only). This ensures high-speed, reliable communication over long distances.
• Connection Methods:
  • The star-type connection is used for centralized configurations.
  • The chain-type connection supports decentralized setups.
  • Both methods are compatible, allowing you to design flexible network architectures.
• Number of Connecting Stages: You can connect up to two stages, enabling the system to handle large networks without losing performance.
• Transmission Distance:
  • The module supports distances from 5 km to 50 km, ideal for large industrial areas.
  • It attenuates optical power by 3-4 dB between SNT411 and SNT511, S2EN501 and SNT511, or SNT411 and S2EN501.
  • If the optical attenuation is below 3 dB, use an attenuator to reduce attenuation by 3 dB.
  • Note: If both SNT411 and SNT511 style codes are S1, reduce attenuation by 1-2 dB using an attenuator.
• Current Consumption: The module consumes only 0.5 A, making it efficient for various applications.
• Weight: It weighs approximately 0.3 kg, which makes installation and handling easier.
