Overview
The Honeywell Engineering Card (Part Number 05701-A-0361) is used in the System 57 rack to provide a common interface for commissioning and operating each control card. It allows users to monitor, adjust, and validate system components while ensuring smooth operation.
Key Features
- Self-Validation
The Engineering Card continuously validates its circuit components, software, and backplane communications. This ensures that the system operates without issues and helps identify potential problems early. - Front Panel Components
The front panel includes tactile push buttons for easy operation, LEDs to indicate rack power and communication status, and a mini DIN socket. This socket connects to external devices such as a serial printer, computer, or engineering key. The engineering key unlocks functions that can alter control card operations. - Rack Integration
The card is always installed in the right-hand slot of the rack and performs several vital tasks, including:- Routing the 24V DC input from the DC Input Card to the backplane
- Providing backplane serial communications control and monitoring
- Offering a time and date reference
- Facilitating an RS232 external engineering interface
- Functionality Based on Security Level
Depending on the security level, the Engineering Card allows users to perform the following tasks:- Monitor and adjust catalytic sensor head current
- Check, adjust, and test alarm set points
- Calibrate sensor signal zero and span
- Set sensor life monitoring values
- Monitor sensor lines
- Enable control card alarm inhibit
- Check and adjust the system clock
- Self-Validation for Reliability
The Engineering Card also performs self-validation for its components, software, and backplane communications to ensure high reliability.
Optional Modules
The Engineering Card can be equipped with one of four optional modules:
- Master Alarm Update Module
This module alerts users when a new alarm occurs, even if previous alarms are still active. - Event Printing Module
Provides time-stamped reports on alarms, faults, and system status at regular intervals. - Modbus Interface Module RS422/485
Allows digital communication between the System 57 Control System and an external computer system using the RS422/485 serial data format and Modbus protocol. - Modbus Interface Module RS232
Enables digital communication between the System 57 Control System and an external computer using the RS232 serial data format and Modbus protocol.
