Overview
The 3300/16 XY/Gap Dual Vibration Monitor continuously measures and monitors two independent channels of radial vibration and average shaft position (gap). It accepts inputs from two proximity probe/Proximitor® systems. This model supersedes the 3300/15 Dual Radial Vibration Monitor, offering the additional capability of gap alarms for radial position, which the earlier version lacks.
Key Specifications
Signal Inputs
This monitor supports one or two proximity probe signals, with a 10 kΩ input impedance. The sensitivity can be user-programmable at either 100 mV/mil (4 V/mm) or 200 mV/mil (8 V/mm).
Power Consumption
The monitor typically consumes 2 watts, making it energy-efficient for continuous operation.
Signal Conditioning
- Accuracy: Within ±0.33% of full-scale at +25°C (+77°F), with a maximum deviation of ±1%.
- Frequency Response: The system is user-programmable for frequencies between 4 to 4,000 Hz (240 to 240,000 cpm) or 1 to 600 Hz (60 to 36,000 cpm), with a -3dB nominal.
- It is important to note that the 1 to 600 Hz option is unsuitable for applications with rapid start-up and coast-down rates exceeding 1000 rpm/s. In such cases, vibration transients may linger and cause false alarms.
Output Features
Recorder Outputs
The monitor allows for user-programmable outputs of +4 to +20 mA, 0 to -10 Vdc, or +1 to +5 Vdc. These outputs are proportional to the programmed monitor full-scale and can operate independently.
- Voltage Outputs: Impedance: 100 Ω, with a minimum load resistance of 10 kΩ.
- Current Compliance: 0 to +12 Vdc across a load of up to 600 Ω when using the +4 to +20 mA option.
Accuracy for Recorder Outputs
- +4 to +20 mA: ±0.7% of signal, ±0.09 mA offset.
- +1 to +5 Vdc: ±1.1% of signal, ±10 mV offset.
- 0 to -10 Vdc: ±1.1% of signal, ±15 mV offset.
Transducer Outputs
The monitor includes one coaxial connector per channel on the front panel and one terminal connection per channel on the rear panel. All outputs are short-circuit protected.
Transducer Supply Voltage
You can program the transducer supply voltage for either -24 Vdc or -18 Vdc, which is current-limited on each individual circuit board.
Alarm and Relay Features
Alarm Setpoints
In addition to vibration Alert and Danger setpoints, the monitor also provides gap Alert setpoints for both channels.
- The alarms are digitally adjustable from 0 to 100% of full-scale, with a repeatability of ±0.39%.
- The Gap Alarm Time Delay is set to 6 seconds, ensuring reliable detection and prevention of false alarms.
Relays
You must install at least one alarm relay module with each 3300 system. The system supports epoxy-sealed relay options, with configurations such as Quad Relays.
- Note: The relay system is not compatible with AND voting logic or the Internal Safety Barriers option.
Display and Indicators
LCD Display
The non-multiplexing vertical bargraph LCD features an individual 63-segment LCD for each channel. Additionally, the probe gap is shown on a third, center scale.
- Resolution: ±1.6% of monitor full-scale, ensuring accurate visual representation of monitored values.
- Size: 83 mm (3.25 in), vertical dimension.
LED Indicators
- OK: A green LED illuminates to indicate that the monitor, transducers, and field wiring are in good condition.
- Alarm: Red LEDs indicate alarm status, with flashing LEDs for First Out.
- Bypass: Red LEDs show the status of Danger Bypass and Rack/Channel Bypass functions.
Environmental Specifications
- Operating Temperature: Ranges from 0°C to +65°C (+32°F to +150°F).
- Storage Temperature: Can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F).
- Relative Humidity: Up to 95%, non-condensing, making it suitable for various industrial environments.
Physical Specifications
- Space Requirements: The unit requires one rack position, excluding positions 1 and 2, which are reserved for the Power Supply and System Monitor.
- Weight: 1 kg (2.2 lbs), lightweight and easy to install.
