Product Description

The 3503E is a Triconex 32 Points TMR Digital Input Module designed for critical safety and control applications. It uses Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR), which ensures high reliability and availability. Each of the module’s three input channels processes data independently. The main processor then votes on the data to verify its integrity. This configuration eliminates the risk of single-channel failure.

Additionally, the 3503E provides optical isolation between the field and the Tricon control system. It continuously monitors the performance of each channel, triggering the Fault Indicator if any diagnostics fail. The system continues to function properly even in the event of a single fault, ensuring safety and operational continuity.

To enhance safety, the 3503E features a self-test function that detects stuck-ON conditions, which is crucial for systems that rely on de-energize-to-trip functionality. When the test is active, the module reads an OFF state, even if the point is stuck ON.

Moreover, the 3503E offers hot-spare capability, which allows for easy replacement of modules without system downtime. The module connects to the Tricon backplane via a separate external termination panel (ETP), ensuring quick, secure connections.
