The HIMA Subrack works exclusively with the HIMA Planar4 System. It accommodates up to 20 modules (locations 1 through 20). Location 21 is reserved for the communication module.
The bus PCB at the rear contains socket connectors, soldering connection strips, and the necessary bus structure. This structure connects the internal communication, 24 VDC power supply, common busbar, and fault signal contact loop. The wiring area at the rear has a penetration for the communication module’s data cable.
The subrack comes fully assembled. It includes a labeling field at the front and a cable duct at the rear for organization.

Principle of the Bus PCB
Rear View
The EL+ supply voltage connects directly through a fuse or circuit breaker rated at 16 A (wire cross-section 2.5 mm²). The L- reference pole connects from separate terminals on the L- distribution bar to both terminal blocks XG.1 and XG.6 (ring feeder). This connection is crucial for safety.
To prevent high current, avoid using the EL+ and L- terminals on XG.1 and XG.6 for other subracks. The terminal blocks XG.2, XG.3, XG.4, and XG.5 are floating; their pins link on the PCB. Use these blocks as needed.
For power outputs via XG.2 to XG.5, use separate supply lines for L+ and L- with suitable wire cross-sections. The maximum current load is 16 A. Follow the guidelines in the “Wiring of the Subracks” chapter in the system manual.
To reduce mechanical stress on the connection pins, remove the plug terminal blocks from their sockets before connecting or removing wires.
Earth connections bond electrically to the subrack’s metal parts. Pins z28, b28, d28, z30 … d32 on the rear connection strips are not connected to the bus PCB.
For fault signal contact loops, link the pins z26-d26 of unused module locations to one of the EC terminals.
If you use Ex(i) modules, replace the connection strips on the rear of the bus PCB with Ex types.
If you do not require data communication to other systems, you can use standard subracks with 32-pole socket connectors for the Planar4 System.
