Description

The TU831/TU831V1 is an 8-channel, 250V extended Module Termination Unit (MTU) designed for ABB’s S800 I/O system. It acts as a passive unit, connecting field wiring to I/O modules while also carrying part of the ModuleBus. This MTU can handle up to 8 I/O channels, with a maximum rated voltage of 250V and a maximum current of 3A per channel. It also manages the distribution of the ModuleBus to the I/O module and the next MTU, and configures the address for the I/O module.

The MTU uses mechanical keys for configuring I/O modules and features an easy-to-release mechanical latch for securing to a DIN rail. The configuration is done mechanically via keys that ensure compatibility with different I/O modules. This system allows up to 36 possible configurations.
