Description
The TU836/TU836V1 is an 8-channel, 250V Extended Module Termination Unit (MTU) designed for the ABB S800 I/O system. This passive unit connects the field wiring to the I/O modules and includes part of the ModuleBus. The TU836 can support up to 8 I/O channels, with a maximum rated voltage of 250V and a maximum current of 3A per channel.
The MTU distributes the ModuleBus to the I/O module and the next MTU while also generating the correct address for the I/O module by shifting outgoing position signals.
The unit mounts easily on a standard DIN rail and includes a mechanical latch to lock the MTU in place. The latch can be released with a screwdriver. The MTU uses mechanical keys to configure the unit for different types of I/O modules, with 36 possible configurations.
The process signal terminals are divided into two groups, with each group containing 4 I/O connections and a process voltage connection. Each channel features a fused load outlet terminal and a signal return connection.
