Description

The TU837/TU837V1 is an 8-channel, 250V Extended Module Termination Unit (MTU) designed for the ABB S800 I/O system. It is a passive unit that connects field wiring to I/O modules and integrates with the ModuleBus for data and signal distribution. The MTU distributes the ModuleBus to the I/O modules and subsequent MTUs, while also generating the correct address for each I/O module.

The unit can handle up to 8 I/O channels, with a maximum rated voltage of 250V and a current of 3A per channel. Additionally, the MTU is equipped with a mechanical locking mechanism and a mechanical keying system for proper module configuration. The process signal terminals are divided into two isolated groups, with each group containing fused load terminals and signal return connections.

The TU837 can be mounted on a standard DIN rail with the included mechanical latch that secures the MTU in place. This latch can be released using a screwdriver for easy module replacement or maintenance.
