Description
The IntelliVAC is an efficient and flexible solution designed for controlling medium voltage vacuum contactors used in motor starter and feeder applications. It supports both 400 and 800 Amp contactors and can control both electrically held and mechanically latched contactor types.
IntelliVAC Features
Wide Supply Voltage Range: 110 – 240 V AC (50/60 Hz), 110 – 250 V DC, suitable for multiple applications.
Consistent Performance: Vacuum contactor pick-up time remains consistent at a given supply voltage, ensuring repeatable performance.
Selectable Drop-out Time: Optimizes coordination with upstream power fuses.
Altitude Compensation: Electronic altitude compensation for 400 A contactors; 800 A contactors come with a user-friendly altitude adjustment.
Power Loss Ride-through (TDUV): Allows the vacuum contactor to remain closed during brief power loss (external capacitor may be required depending on the ride-through time).
Anti-kiss and Anti-pumping Protection: Prevents rapid re-closure of the contactor due to faulty control devices.
Delayed Restart: Ensures that the vacuum contactor operates within its rated duty cycle.
Temporary Jog Function: Available for electrically held contactors, allowing motor positioning for process set-up.
IntelliVAC Versions
Series A:
One version for electrically held vacuum contactors (single electrical coil, electronically economized).
Another version for mechanically latched vacuum contactors.
Series B:
A single version that controls both electrically held and mechanically latched vacuum contactors.
Note: A Series B IntelliVAC module can replace a Series A module.
Specifications
Mounting & Connections
Mounting: The IntelliVAC control module is mounted using two screws (as shown in Figure 1.3).
Connection: It interfaces with Bulletin 1502 vacuum contactors using “quick” connectors (module-side and contactor-side). Control power and other connections also use “quick” connectors.
Configuration
Configured via DIP switches located on the enclosure (front side).
Bulletin 1500/1900 controllers are pre-configured for the required application.
Firmware
Stored in flash EEPROM and can be updated in the field using a mini-DIN connector accessible inside the enclosure.
