System Overview:

The 1747-BSN Backup Scanner Module from Allen-Bradley is designed to provide redundancy in control systems, ensuring that if a fault occurs in the primary processor, a secondary processor can take over seamlessly. It supports redundancy for:

• Remote I/O (RIO) communication.
• RS232 channel switchover for communication with devices like operator interfaces.
• DH+ communication.

In addition to redundancy, the module provides:

• High-Speed Serial Link (HSSL) to transfer retentive data from the primary processor to the secondary processor.
