The Bentley Nevada 208 DAIU is a predecessor to the 208-P DAIU, initially designed for compatibility with older Compaq notebook computers via the notebook’s docking port connector. Additionally, a special ISA card was made available for desktop computers, enabling connection to the 208.
The 208-P DAIU is the recommended unit for modern applications, offering direct connection to an Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP). It supports virtually all current notebook and desktop systems that have EPP and can operate in EPP mode. However, note that the 208 cannot be connected to a 208-P—a 208 is only necessary for setups requiring connection to another existing 208.

Notes:
- When two 208 DAIUs are connected, only one unit requires a computer interface. The other 208 DAIU can use option 00 (no adapter). Note: A 208 DAIU cannot be connected to a 208-P.
- The ISA interface card allows a 208 DAIU to connect to desktop computers with an ISA expansion slot.
- Enhanced Parallel Port, PCMCIA slot (for notebooks), or ISA slot (for desktops) is required for communication.
