Bently-Nevada 125768-01 RIM I/O Module

The Bently-Nevada 125768-01 Rack Interface Module (RIM) I/O Module serves as the primary interface to the 3500 rack, providing communication for rack configuration and machinery data retrieval. It must be installed in slot 1 of the rack, alongside the power supplies. The module supports RS232/RS422 serial communications and is compatible with Bently Nevada’s external communication processors such as TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX.

Although the RIM performs several functions common to the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path and does not impact the normal operation of the monitoring system. A single RIM is required for each rack. For Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, a TMR version of the RIM is necessary, which additionally handles monitor channel comparison and monitor voting to improve system reliability.

  • TX/RX LED: Shows communication activity with other modules.
  • TM LED: Indicates when the rack is in Trip Multiply mode.
  • CONFIG OK LED: Shows when the rack has a valid configuration.
  • I/O Module OK Relay: Indicates the rack’s operating status, with options for normally open or normally closed contact settings.
• Control Functions:
  • Trip Multiply: Activates the Trip Multiply mode for the 3500 rack.
  • Alarm Inhibit: Inhibits all alarms in the rack.
  • Rack Reset: Clears latched alarms and defeats Timed OK channels.
  • RS232/RS422 Switch: Selects between RS232 and RS422 communications for Bently Nevada host software.
