I/O Module Positioning Guidelines

1. Increased Depth:
   Internal barrier I/O modules are deeper than standard barrier I/O modules. When positioning the module, consider ensuring enough space around it for easy access during maintenance.
2. Rack Positioning:
   • These modules can be placed in any general-purpose rack position.
   • They can be adjacent to standard I/O modules, provided that a 50mm (2 in) physical separation is maintained between safe and hazardous area field wiring.
3. Installation Tips:
   • Group all internal barrier I/O modules in adjacent positions to streamline installation.
   • Position the IS Earthing Module in a location that is easily accessible for regular maintenance.
   • Allow a minimum of two rack positions when placing standard I/O modules or the IS Earthing Module between internal barrier I/O modules to facilitate easy access without disturbing adjacent components.
