DS200PTBAG1A | GE Protective Core Terminal Board

Functional Description

The DS200PTBAG1A is a Protective Core Terminal Board manufactured by General Electric as part of the Mark V Series used in gas turbine control systems. This board facilitates the termination of core signals via the Protection Termination Module (PTBA) located in the core. The PTBA terminal board connects to the TCEB board and handles:

• Input Signals: High and low-pressure shaft speeds, flame detection, generator and bus voltages, and generator currents.
• Output Signals: External trip input signals, generator and bus signals, and generator breaker closure signals, written to the TCTG board.

The TCEB board’s audio alarm (horn) is powered through a hardware jumper on the PTBA board.

PTBA Connectors

JJR

• Writes high and low-pressure shaft speed signals to the TCQE board in the core.

JM

• Reads and writes emergency trip outputs to/from the TCTG board and generator breaker signals (52GL).

JN

• Handles external trip signals to/from the TCTG board, writes the horn enable signal, and manages generator breaker signals (G125P).

JU

• Writes signals for the horn enable, flame detection, and emergency Overspeed to the TCEB board.

JV

• Writes PT and CT current signals, as well as generator and bus voltage signals, to the TCEB board.

JVA

• Distributes 335 V dc from the TCEB board to flame detection devices.

JJS/T

• Rarely used.

PTBA Hardware Configuration

• J1 Configuration:
  Enables the horn-based audible alarm, which can be silenced as needed.

Primary and Emergency Overspeed Trip Setpoints

The Mark V LM control system offers primary and emergency electronic Overspeed protection for up to two turbine shafts. These protections are managed at two separate levels:

1. Primary Overspeed Protection:
   • Utilizes the Overspeed Big Block Language (BBL) blocks of the CSP in the R> control processor.
   • Uses turbine shaft speed sensors mounted on the PTBA terminal board.
   • Filters and scales magnetic speed sensor pulses via the I/O board.
2. Emergency Overspeed Protection:
   • Managed by the protective processors X, Y, and Z in the P1 protective core.
   • Operates independently of primary Overspeed protection.
