Product Description:

The IC697MEM715B is a CMOS expansion memory module that GE Automation and Controls designed for expanding the data and logic memory in CPU 772/771 modules or the Programmable Co-Processor Module (IC697PCM711). It offers different capacities, including 64 KB, 128 KB, 256 KB, and 512 KB, and allows configuration for both data and program storage.

This module functions as a daughterboard and fits into the same slot as the module it supports. Its memory supplements the baseboard’s memory. In case of a power loss, the battery on the baseboard housing preserves the stored memory. Furthermore, the PLC CPU frequently checks the logic program memory for errors by running checksum routines. During power cycles or system resets, the module automatically verifies storage memory for any errors.

Software and Installation:

Users can configure the module using MS-DOS or Windows-based programming software. It includes a lithium battery that maintains the calendar clock and user memory when power is unavailable. For seamless battery replacement, always install the new battery before removing the old one. Since the module is field-installable, it requires no additional tools for setup, simplifying the process.
