HONEYWEL 10001/R/1 Vertical Bus Driver (VBD)

Description

The Vertical Bus Driver (VBD) is an integral component of the FSC system. It connects the Central Part (CP) to the I/O level, facilitating communication between the Central Part and the I/O modules.

Key Features:

• Installation: Up to 6 VBDs can be installed per Central Part.
• Support: Each VBD can support up to 10 Horizontal Bus Drivers (HBD) modules.
• Maximum Distance: The maximum distance between a VBD and an I/O rack on the vertical bus is 5 m (16.4 ft).

The 10001/R/1 module consists of two parts:

1. Electronic Part (Mainboard)
2. Wiring Part (10001/A/1)

The wiring part (10001/A/1) of the VBD is secured to the 19-inch rack using bolts on a 96-pin connector. This design allows for the exchange of the electronic part of the VBD without needing to disconnect the vertical bus flat cable.

Jumper Settings

The jumpers on the wiring part are used to configure VBD and CP numbers:

• J1 to J4: Set the VBD number.
• J5 and J6: Set the CP number.

Vertical Bus

The vertical bus flatcable connects the 10001/R/1 VBDs to the Horizontal Bus Drivers (HBDs, models 10100/1/1 or 10100/2/1).
