Description
The Honeywell 10005/1/1 Watchdog Module (WD) monitors critical system parameters to ensure proper functioning of the process and prevent failures:
- Application Loop Monitoring:
- Maximum execution time: Detects if the process is correctly executing its program and not in a loop (hang-up).
- Minimum execution time: Detects if the processor is skipping parts of the program.
- 5 Vdc Voltage Monitoring:
- Monitors for overvoltage and undervoltage (5 Vdc ± 5%).
- Memory Error Logic:
- Monitors the CPU, COM, and MEM modules. In case of a memory error, the watchdog output is de-energized.
- ESD Input:
- Independent input to de-energize the watchdog output from the processor. This input is 24 Vdc and is galvanically isolated from the internal 5 Vdc.
The module functions as a 2-out-of-3 voting system, where each section monitors the parameters described.
Maximum WDG OUT Output Current: 900 mA (fuse 1A) 5 Vdc. If multiple output modules are on the same 5 Vdc supply and require a higher current, a watchdog repeater (WDR, 10302/1/1) is required to divide the load between the WD and the WDR.

- Modules with a suffix code are functionally identical to those without a suffix. The changes involve improved production yield and reliability.
- Suffix Code Details:
- 01301: Supports the 10005/O/1 watchdog horizontal bus.
- 01302: Supports the 10005/O/2 watchdog horizontal bus with ESD key switch.
- 01303: Supports the 10005/O/3 watchdog horizontal bus without ESD key switch.
- Important: Do not remove or replace this module while power is on to its Central Part.
