Overview
The SNT401-13 Optical ESB Bus Repeater Master Module facilitates the conversion of the ESB Bus into optical signals. It enables extended transmission distances for the ESB Bus, which connects safety control units, safety node units, and N-IO nodes. By pairing the SNT401 Master Module with the SNT501 Slave Module via an optical fiber cable, the ESB Bus range can be extended up to 5 km for single-stage configurations, or up to 10 km with two stages in specific systems.

EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS

SNT411 Optical ESB Bus Repeater Module EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS
Nominal Tolerances :
- When the reference dimension is over 0.5 mm and equal or less than 120 mm, its nominal tolerance is ± 0.8 mm, while its combination of nominal tolerance is ± 1.5 mm.
- When the reference dimension is over 120 mm, its nominal tolerance is in accordance with JEM 1459.
Mounting Restrictions and Cautions
- Slot Configuration:
- Duplex modules must be mounted on two adjacent slots.
- Odd-numbered slots are used for ESB Bus 1 modules.
- Even-numbered slots are used for ESB Bus 2 modules.
- Temperature Considerations:
- For 60–70°C operation, leave two empty slots next to the power supply module.
- Mount one set of modules in every two slots, leaving two empty slots between sets.
- Compatibility with Rack Mounts:
- Use with the SNT10D Rack for installing Optical ESB Bus Repeater Modules. Refer to the manual GS 32Q06K11-31E.
- System Restrictions:
- Refer to GS 32P06K60-01EN for mounting restrictions with other modules like S2SC70, SSC60, SSC50, and SNB10D.
System Requirements
- SENG: Version R1.02 or later.
- SCS: Version R1.02 or later.
Model Variants
Suffix Codes
- -1: No explosion protection.
- -3: Complies with ISA Standard G3 and supports a temperature range of -20°C to 70°C (for maintenance purposes).
Pairing Rules
When connecting via optical fiber, ensure proper pairing of master and slave modules:
- Master Side → Slave Side:
- SNT401-3 → SNT501-3.
- SNT401-F → SNT501-F.
- SNT401-F → S2EN501-1.
Additional Notes
- The suffix codes for bus 1 and bus 2 modules must be identical.
- When connecting to an S2EN501 module, it must be installed in an S2NN30D unit.
- For further details on module usage and installation, consult Yokogawa’s product manuals and guidelines.
