The Triconex 4351B Tricon Communication Module (TCM) is a key component in Tricon safety systems. It enables communication between the Tricon controller and other networked devices. This module supports various protocols and offers flexible network connectivity.

Key Features

Embedded OPC Server: Models 4353 and 4354 include an embedded OPC Server on NET 2. This allows up to 10 OPC clients to subscribe to data. It supports Data Access 2.05 and Alarms and Events 1.10 standards.
Dual Network Ports: Each TCM model has two network ports:
- Models 4351A, 4351B, and 4353 come with copper Ethernet (802.3) ports.
- Models 4352A, 4352B, and 4354 feature fiber-optic Ethernet ports.
Protocol Support:
- NET 1 on Models 4351A, 4351B, 4352A, and 4352B supports TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, TSAA, TriStation, SNTP, and Jet Direct (network printing). It also supports Peer-to-Peer (UDP/IP) and Peer-to-Peer Time Synchronization.
- NET 2 on Models 4353 and 4354 supports embedded OPC server, TriStation, and SNTP.
Hot-Spare Capability: The TCM does not support hot-spare functionality. However, faulty modules can be replaced while the controller stays online.
Modbus Capacity: A Tricon system can support up to 32 Modbus masters or slaves. This includes network and serial ports.

System Configuration & Limitations

Maximum TCMs per System: A Tricon system supports up to four TCMs. These modules must be placed across two logical slots. Different TCM models cannot be mixed in one slot.
Modbus Capacity: The system can handle 32 Modbus masters or slaves, including both network and serial ports.
