Regal Rexnord and Honeywell have entered a strategic partnership to develop technologies for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This collaboration will integrate electro-mechanical components, systems, and software specifically designed for these advanced aircraft.

Focus on Actuation Systems for Aircraft

To start, the companies will focus on flight surface actuation systems, which control vital aircraft components such as rudders, flaps, landing gear, and thrust reversers. These systems will be crucial for the future of eVTOL aircraft, improving overall performance and safety.

Advancing Manufacturing and Certification Processes

While the complete scope of their collaboration is still being finalized, it is expected to cover all stages of development. This includes the production of components, full assembly, and testing of Honeywell’s flight control actuation systems.
