Investing in India’s Growth

Since 2015, Siemens has invested over Rs 9,000 crore in India, with an additional Rs 1,100 crore announced in November 2023. At ELECRAMA 2025, Matthias Rebellius, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Smart Infrastructure, reaffirmed the company’s commitment. “We are enhancing our factory capacities to address both local and global needs,” Rebellius stated.

Siemens operates 32 factories and employs over 34,000 people in India, positioning itself to support the country’s economic goals and infrastructure modernization.

Focus on Energy and Rail Infrastructure

India’s emphasis on digitalization, energy efficiency, and grid management aligns well with Siemens’ expertise. The company is modernizing India’s power transmission and distribution networks to meet rising energy demands, especially for clean energy.

Siemens also plays a significant role in India’s rail transportation sector, providing advanced solutions that boost efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, the company’s low-voltage power distribution solutions are powering India’s electrification and are being exported globally.

Partnering for Viksit Bharat 2047

Siemens is supporting India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision by engaging in public-private partnerships and infrastructure projects. Rebellius highlighted Siemens’ role as a trusted partner in India’s journey to becoming a global manufacturing hub. “Infrastructure ministries are encouraged to create a 3-year pipeline of projects for investment. Siemens is already a trusted partner,” he said.

Driving Innovation and Sustainability

With its expanded factory capacity and continued investments, Siemens is set to drive innovation and sustainability in India’s infrastructure and energy sectors. These efforts align with India’s goals of industrial self-reliance and global competitiveness.
